Environmental hazards

If not disposed of properly, cell phones damage our air, soil and
water: One cell phone can pollute up to 132,000 liters of water.

Cell phones contain toxic substances such as arsenic, lead,
cadmium, and beryllium. These substances pollute the air when
burned in garbage incinerators and leach into soil and drinking
water when buried in landfills.

Old Phones Still Have Value

It is estimated that over 125 million wireless
phones will be improperly discarded this
year! Because of this, some states are
                                     now requiring mandatory recycling of
                                     old cellular phones.  Wireless phones
                                     can be redistributed, refurbished or
recycled. Almost every part of a wireless phone
is recyclable! Recycling your phone costs you nothing, but can pay
large dividends to your organization.

Why not contribute funds to your organization while preserving the
well-being of our planet?
